Am on a mission to tell stories, share experiences, touch souls and inspire people from all walks of life particularly people suffering from Vitiligo. The new story of my life that I would like to share with you has been defined by the color of my skin and am glad to have found grip in my life and embrace it on a whole new level. When I was diagnosed with Vitiligo, I was mortified, but decided to chalk it up to a failure of my genetics and move on.
The first time I noticed a change in my skin was in late 2018 when I noticed a small oval patch on my lips. I didn’t think much of it, and assumed it was just a blemish. Over the next few weeks, I noticed the patch growing and spreading, until I was left with a large, unsightly irregularity. It began to acquire a faint patch of brown pigment, the first signs of Vitiligo. I spent months researching the condition, wondering if I would lose my entire skin color, or just a section of my skin.

Vitiligo is an irreversible skin disease that affects the pigment in hair, skin, and eyes. It has no known cure and its cause is yet to be clearly established, but treatment can help manage the symptoms and prevent the disorder from spreading. Some people have experienced Vitiligo as children, but others are diagnosed only after years of uncomfortable skin discoloration. Some people experience only a few small spots, while others have vast areas of skin that is completely white.

I have Vitiligo, and I want to use my experience to help others suffering from the condition. I want to inspire people to be more inclusive, to be kinder, and to reach out to those who need support and companionship the most. I want to inspire people to learn more about Vitiligo and appreciate those who are still able to wear make-up, go out in the sun, and enjoy life.
People suffering from vitiligo can be happy again!

Many people have heard of Vitiligo, but very few have actually been in touch with someone who suffers from the condition. By sharing my experiences and those of others who have been touched by Vitiligo, I hope to inspire people to learn more about the condition and help bring awareness to the issue.
